GoldinSkin has performed thousands of successful, safe, cost-effective, on-site surgeries with minimal discomfort, short downtimes and excellent cosmetic results.

Here are a few of the areas addressed by our surgical treatment services:

Most moles are harmless. But even so, sometimes they’re in your way: They may get caught on your clothes or get nicked when you shave. Maybe you don’t like the way they look. GoldinSkin can explain to you the pros and cons of removing your bothersome moles and expertly take care of your problem.

Sometimes a mole changes. It may grow, itch or bleed. This can be a warning sign that a more serious problem is at hand and you should make an appointment for us to evaluate it.

GoldinSkin employs various therapies to treat actinic keratoses, the pre-cancerous skin growths that arise from ultraviolet radiation exposure. The doctors at GoldinSkin frequently freeze these lesions with liquid nitrogen (cryosurgery) or prescribe creams to attack these pre-cancerous growths. Sometimes surgery is necessary to remove and analyze the lesion.

Recently photodynamic therapy has been widely used to treat actinic keratoses. Most dermatology practices use only blue light photodynamic therapy. However, GoldinSkin has found that the best results come from using a combination of both blue light and red light. Red light reaches deeper into the skin and makes the photodynamic therapy more effective. Our series of treatments can provide an excellent, long lasting results.

The doctors at GoldinSkin are experts at detecting and treating skin cancer. We strive to choose the right treatment taking into consideration the specific type of skin cancer and the individual patient. Options may include topical creams, oral medications, freezing (cryosurgery), simple scraping (curettage), or excision in the office. When necessary we refer patients to expert colleagues for radiation therapy or Mohs’ surgery.

A novel treatment we use to treat skin cancers is through a process called photodynamic therapy (PDT). Using this technique, GoldinSkin can attack skin cancers using a chemical solution and intense red light. This non-invasive approach is effective for certain types of skin cancers and often barely leaves a mark. It is also much less expensive than most surgical treatments.

Some scars don’t heal quite the way we want and may end up thicker or wider than we prefer. The doctors at GoldinSkin will then soften, flatten or remove the scar completely. Our goal is to significantly reduce your scar’s appearance and make you feel most comfortable.
